Gabriel Iglesias Knoxville Concert reviews
I still like Madonna, show was not for me
My first ever show, but have always been a fan of her music, except Rebel Hearts & MDNA. Confessions & Hard Candy concerts online I saw and thought, man I've been missing out on seeing Madonna live. I thought maybe seeing the songs performed in a "live" setting would change my mind about the album...not really.
Great intro/ entrance up to including her rendition of Burning up where she played the guitar. The performance of Holy water was dope, even though I think it's an awful song. The entire production, choreography was pretty amazing. She looked like she was having fun with "Like A Virgin". Great dancers, especially love that she has Aya & Bambi (fierce Japanese voguers) in her touring company. Madonna herself...you would not guess she is pushing 60... she performed fantastically with her dancers 1/2 her age. Loved the 30s, ala "Chicago" inspired vignette. She had some of her dancers do this swaying pole routine to Illuminati, that was kind of exciting, very Cirque De Soleil. The show flowed nicely.
Not a fan of Amy Schumer. Madonna started an hour 1/2 late, my friend fell asleep waiting for her to come on. Performed to backing tracks a lot of the concert and I loathe auto-tune. I know Madonna hates doing her older songs, but the rushed Mexican inspired vignette of her 80s material was terrible. She did not cater to her fans in the rafters or in the upper side seats, if you didn't get a $200-up seat she does not have a jumbo tron or the screen on the side facing the audience. Not having a full live band, kind of sucked some of the energy out of the show. I didn't feel her show even though she was energetic. But the few songs she sang live, she sounded good. I suppose that would not have bothered me so much if I liked her album, Idk.
Overall, for an exciting energetic musician/band based arena concert like the RCHP Rolling Stones, Prince, or Springsteen, it failed. But if you are a super fan, like this album, like super choreographed spectacles, super lighting and don't mind lip syncing then this is totally your show.
